A.C. Looks Mediocre In Win

Guildford A.C. opened Cup play this weekend against the North Shore Adrenaline. On paper the game looked to be a bit of lopsided matchup with A.C. being the number one seed and North Shore coming out of tier 2. A.C., however, have not looked particularly sharp of late. Despite only one loss in League play Guildford have squeeked out a few results and have struggled with the injury bug.

Right from the opening kickoff there was no doubt about the superior team in terms of posession but Guildford couldn't make much of thier pressure. A.C. finally got on the board midway through the half on a scramble that was tapped in. Guildford would add a couple more equally unimpressive goals but still had to be pleased with a 3-0 lead going into the half.

The second half was much of the same, Guildford continued to look out-of-sync but simply was the stronger team. A.C. added three more goals for a 6-0 win.

On the scoreboard, the Guildford girls got the job done but will have to be a lot better to earn results against the top teams. Next week Cup play continues against Richmond Coyotes, Richmond also recorded a win in their opening game of Cup.
