After a rather unimpressive win the week before A.C. had a good week of training and appeared to be ready to turn a corner in their season. A win would put them in great shape to advance to the next round of cup play.
Although this week's opposition was much stronger than last week, Guildford looked utterly dominant from the get go. A.C. was building chances down both flanks and Richmond looked powerless to shut them down; going into half time Guildford had put three goals on the board and all three were well developped plays and solid finishes.
Tactically, A.C., arguably for the first time this season, looked polished in their attack and appeared to have a plan. The onslaught continued in the second half. With solid wing play, opportunities started to open up down the middle and A.C. was getting multiple scoring chances from all areas. At full time, Guildford had added four more goals for 7-0 win.
Guildford put together a very solid performance and the big result was very well earned. The girls finish up the group stage of cup play next week against the Surrey Breakers. A win will garuantee A.C. a spot in the knockout stage.
