GOLD in Chilliwack

Guilford wrapped up the Chilliwack tournament with wins over Squamish and Sunshine Coast United. In the early game, A.C. cruised through scoring early and often, however, one short few moments of poor play cost them a goal against, the only blemish on a near perfect weekend record. Final score of the early game 10-1.

The conditions deteriorated for the second game and A.C. played in heavy rain. Again A.C. would score early and build a big lead going into the half. With the tournament all but wrapped up, Guildford did not press particularly hard in the second half despite dominating posession and the flow of play. Final score 5-0.

With the two wins from day one A.C. captured the gold medal. North Van. Lions Gate Capilanos 97's took the silver in a shootout win over Chilliwack. Guildford will now have a light week of training before seeing much stiffer competition in the Wesburn Tournament on Labour Day Weekend.
